If you have ever hired a cleaning service and thought, “Okay but are these people actually going to get it,” there's definitely a club you can join. I'm sure of it.. Busy professionals and active families do not need mystery, inconsistency, or a rotating cast of strangers with a bottle of something citrusy and a dream. You want your home to feel calm again, you want it handled with competence, and you want to know the people in your space have a method that works even when life is loud.
That is exactly why we built the Scrub Club Method.
It is our proprietary approach to house cleaning in Traverse City and the surrounding area, and it is not fancy for the sake of fancy. It is no BS. It is minimal products, maximum tools. It is systems over vibes, but if I think about it it's part vibe too. It is definitely training over guessing though, because it's been eight years of refining how to clean homes well, while also obsessing over the one thing most cleaning companies forget to build on purpose.
The client experience.
What the Scrub Club Method actually is (in normal human language)
The Scrub Club Method is a “back in my my day” take on cleaning, meaning we do not show up trying to reinvent the wheel every visit. We show up with tools and process first, and we keep products simple and minimal on purpose. When your home is cleaned the same way every time, by trained people following a method, the results feel different. It's not just cleaner, it's calmer and predictable.
Predictable is underrated until you have it.
Our method is built around three things that create trust fast.
Preparation so we walk in ready, not scrambling
Flow so the work is efficient and comfortable, not chaotic
Follow-through so nothing gets lost after we leave, including communication
If you have been burned by “we will try our best” cleaning, this part matters. We do not “try", we run a system.
Before we ever arrive: what happens behind the scenes
Most people picture cleaners pulling up, grabbing a caddy, and diving in. That is not how we operate, and honestly, that is not how a professional home cleaning service should operate if you want consistent results.
Before arrival, each cleaner gathers all equipment and supplies they need for the day. Not some of it. Not “we will figure it out.” All of it. Then they read through a thorough client profile for every home they're servicing. That profile includes the things that make your home your home, including what matters to you, what you want prioritized, what you want avoided, and any special notes we need to honor.
We do that because your house is not a checklist. It is your actual life.
About arrival times, because we do not pretend traffic is fake
Our first appointment of the day at 9:00am is a guaranteed time. After that, arrival times can vary because of traffic, a previous clean might take longer because the home needed it, or because something unexpected came up that we could not ignore if we wanted to do the job well.
What we do promise is this: our internal systems support quality cleaning, cleaners that care, communication, and follow though, and that is part of why the Scrub Club Method works so well for busy professionals and active families who do not have time to play email tag.
“Finding our flow”: why we don't clean like robots
Here is one of the most misunderstood things about a consistent cleaning service. Consistency doesn't mean every cleaner moves through every home like a Roomba with a clipboard.
Consistency means the standards stay the same, and the cleaner is trained enough to choose the most efficient path to meet those standards in that specific home on that specific day and we call it finding our flow.
Some houses, the most efficient flow is top back of the house to bottom front and other houses it makes more sense to work in sections. The goal is efficiency and comfort for the cleaner, because an uncomfortable cleaner is not a detail-oriented cleaner. When someone is fighting the layout, rushing, or doing mental gymnastics to force a rigid order, the work gets sloppier.
Flow is not a free-for-all, it's a skill, and we teach it as part of the method.
What we always clean, every time, because we are not here to play
Every recurring visit covers the core areas that make a home feel truly clean. Tidy we can do too, but this is our Core Four.
Kitchen
Bathrooms
Dusting
Floors
This is the baseline of residential cleaning that actually changes how your house feels to live in. It is also why recurring home cleaning works so much better than the deep clean burnout cycle, because the basics stay handled and the chaos does not have a chance to stack up into a weekend-eating project.
Add-ons, because sometimes life needs extra support
We also offer add-ons when you want more than the baseline and these are the extras that can make a huge difference when your season of life is intense:
Feng Shui Cleaning
organizing
laundry
dishes
inside the oven
inside the fridge
similar upgrades.
If you have ever looked at your to-do list and felt your nervous system leave your body, you already understand why add-ons can be a lifesaver.
Setup Clean and seasonal cleans: the deep work that sets the tone
Let’s talk about the Setup Clean, because this is where many people realize Scrub Club is built differently.
Our Setup Clean is the more thorough clean that gets you to the level where recurring service can actually stay effective. It includes details like baseboards, trim, decorative wood detailing, reachable lights and fans, those weird marks on the doorway where kids and the workin' (wo)men rest their hands. It's the kind of chaos cycle reset that you usually do yourself once a year, vow to maintain, and slowly slips.
That Setup Clean is also the same thing as the seasonal reset cleans we include twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.
So yes, we are the kind of company that thinks ahead. We plan for the reality that seasons change, life changes, and homes need a deeper reset built into the rhythm, not tacked on as a surprise emergency.
Quality control that is not performative
Here is the truth: Anyone can say they do quality control, the question is whether the quality control is real, consistent, and attached to action.
Our first clean is always quality checked, because we want to make sure the method is being executed the way it is designed, and we want you to feel confident and say "Wow!" right away. After that, we rotate quality checks throughout the year. Not because we assume people are doing a bad job, but because excellence is easier to maintain when it's supported.
Also, humans are human. Systems catch what humans miss.
Quality checks evaluate the first impression, kitchen details, bathroom details, thoroughness of the dusting, what the cleaner needs to work on, and how we can optimize the cleaning overall. Do we need to come more often? Could we come less? Is there a perk we can throw in on the next visit to make things even better? We're constantly looking for ways to bring value.
Our follow-up system includes quality checks, check-ins, and communication loops that help make sure everything is running smoothly over time, not just on the day you signed up.If you are a busy professional, this matters because you don't want another thing to manage. If you are an active family, this matters because your home changes weekly and sometimes daily, and you need a service that adapts without falling apart.
How we train, because training is how we provide excellent service
If you are trusting someone with your home, the real product is not “a clean house.” The real product is a trained person executing a method with consistency.
We train new team members using the Scrub Club Method through video, written, and hands-on training that lasts between three and five days, depending on how quickly someone catches on. They are evaluated using a point system, and they're either cleared to clean on the fifth day, or we wish them the best on finding work that works for them.
That sounds blunt because it is blunt.
We are not here to force a fit that does not fit. Your home deserves better than “good enough,” and our team deserves better than being thrown into a role they are not ready for or a role that doesn't teach them the skills they're ready to learn
Skill first, speed second
We don't have timing goals during training either. We teach skill first and speed second, because speed without skill is how corners get cut and how trust gets broken.
Our biggest desire with new people is to teach them skills they can stack on top of the skills they already have, and to build a foundation for new skills they will learn later. For many people, this is not a forever job, and we get that. The skills still matter, and for some of us, cleaning absolutely is forever.
Yes, the owner actually loves cleaning
Hi, it’s me. I wrote this.
I love the physical work. I love seeing how other people decorate their homes. I love noticing what products people use, and yes, I am talking to you ladies with the awe inspiring beauty product stashes that look like a boutique exploded in the best way.
I love that cleaning gives me space to listen to audiobooks and podcasts, and I love that a well run cleaning rhythm can change how a home feels to live in.
A lot of cleaning companies are built by people who want to escape cleaning. Scrub Club was built by someone who genuinely enjoys it and then took that love and built systems around it, so the experience could be consistently excellent even when I am not the one in your house.
That is what a real method does. It scales care and provides essential experiences for cleaners and clients alike.
Why this matters for house cleaning in Traverse City and the surrounding towns
If you live in Traverse City, Acme, Williamsburg, Kingsley, Interlochen, Grawn, Elk Rapids, Cedar, Lake Leelanau, Suttons Bay, or anywhere in the greater Grand Traverse area, you already know life here has a rhythm. Summer gets busy fast, winter gets messy in a different way, and mud season is real. Guests show up, kids have activities, work gets intense, and our homes take the hit.
The Scrub Club Method is built to handle that rhythm without you having to micromanage i
t.
It is why busy professionals trust us with their home. It is why active families feel relief instead of adding “manage the cleaners” to their mental load. It is why recurring home cleaning works so well when it is backed by systems.
